Day of Champion - Trademarks and Licensing

Calling all Champions! Join us Monday, Sept. 19 for the Day of Champion, featuring educational panels, activities and giveaways, and the opportunity to engage with leaders in corporate marketing and sustainability.UNC Trademarks and Licensing and Hanesbrands Inc., Carolina’s primary apparel partner, have joined to create a day of learning and engagement for students, faculty and staff.

Panel sessions will take place in the Great Hall of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Keynote speakers John Shumate, vice president of brand marketing for Champion, and Chris Fox, chief sustainability officer for HanesBrands, Inc., will discuss current and future keys to branding, corporate mission and sustainability. They will be joined by Mike Piehler, chief sustainability officer at Carolina, and a panel of members from the Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Hussman School of Journalism and Media. Carolina alumni that work for Hanesbrands, along with student interns, will also be on hand to share their experiences. Food and giveaways will be provided.

Day of Champion will continue in the Pit, with food, games and giveaways from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Chances to win customized Champion hoodies will occur throughout the education sessions and in the Pit.
